My Top 10 Celebrity Fashion Disasters of 2009

I thought seen as it's now 2010 we should look at back at the past year and see what really didnt work for some celebrities throughout 2009.

This is my top 10 (1 being the worst):
10:Mary Kate Olsen.
This looks as if she's just walked out in her dressing gown... with some hideous orange slippers on.
9:
Chloƫ Sevigny.
Chloƫ used to be classed as a style icon. This outfit shows how things changed.

8:

Diane Keaton.
Im not sure what really happened to Diane on this one. Did she swap wardrobes with her hubby for the night? Whatever did happen.. something definitley went wrong.

7:
Leighton Meester.
Well we cant say she wasn't creative when she got dressed this morning. However a sunset dress with matching under belly top?.. I'm not even sure what it is. Definite thumbs down.

6: Lady Gaga.
We know Lady Gaga loves her "unusual" outfits but this is just awful. It's a total mish match of patterns and whats with the hat!?

5: Uma Thurman.
This looks like Uma's been rummaging through her garbage and made it into outfit. New trendsetter?.. I don't think so.

4: Beyonce Knowles.
I'm quite confused as to what Beyonce was thinking when she put on this "dress." It looks as if she just pulled down her curtains and made an outfit. Sack your stylist Beyonce!
3: Sandra Bullock.
I think Sandra must be having a mid life crisis. You can tell by her facial expression that she's not too keen on what she's wearing.. and "what is she wearing?!" a baggyish unfitted red top with a fitted black pencil skirt and... ankle boots?! If i were her.. I'd be hiding right now.
2: Whoopi Goldberg.
Whoopi looks as if she just stepped off the set of The Wizard of Oz or Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. There are no words.

And Finally, my favourite celebrity disaster of 2009 has to be this one.

In first place is:
Lady Gaga.
Lady Gaga makes her second appearance in the top 10. Yet this time she's number 1. To be honest does it surprise us? no, but this outfit is just awful. I have no idea why you would want to walk around with dozens of Kermit Frogs hanging from your body. This has to be the WORST fashion disaster of 2009 for sure.. if not of all time! Bin it and burn it Gaga!

Kristen Stewart at the LA New Moon Premiere

I absolutley love what Kristen Stewart wore to the New Moon Premiere in LA.
It really shows off her personality, as she is very rock chick, and this dress gives off a unique and quirky vibe. I also think the way her hair has been styled suits her very well, as it is very simple but looks intruging. I can definitley see Twilight Fans copying this style- Watch out Kristen!

Tartan, Tartan, Tartan!

I am a massive fan of Tartan, and when I found out that it was going to be coming back into fashion for winter 2009- my face lit up!
There are some gorgeous tartan garments to be seen at the moment, from Catwalk to High Street... there's no way of hiding from it, and trust me- I won't be!

I love these dresses seen on Katy Perry and Solange Knowles:

Kim Cattrall's Flashback to the 80's on Sex and the City 2 Set

The sequel to Sex and The City is about to be released, and I have to admit I love Kim Cattrall's 80's look within the film... alot of people have slated the look, but I think she looks really fun and quirky, and rocks a mish-match of colours perfectly. Her massive bleach blonde hair just finishes the outfit, and has a real Madonna/Debbie Harry look to it... Ultimate 80's!

Lady Gaga goes GAGA!

I know we all usually love how unusual and unique Lady Gaga's outfits are and cant wait to see what she'll be wearing next, but this time she took it a bit too far... in a recent interview with News Week she wore this outfit:

Now I admit I loved the muppets when I was a kid, and have the odd t-shirt with them on now, but...a whole outfit made of Kermit Frogs?!.. What was she thinking?

This is a definite no no for anybody's wardrobe! Please Gaga take it to the nearest bin!

Fearne Cotton

Fearne Cotton is one of my all time favourite idols.
I think she has a great personality, and I love her fashion sense, she always looks fantastic whether she's in a posh dress or a baggy jumper. I love the way she looks very natural too, she seems as if she doesn't spend much time getting ready but still looks good whatever.
I saw this picture of her, and think it sums up my previous sentence well...

Wearing just a simple a black and white striped baggy jumper and black jeans, yet she looks great.

I think that the accessories she has used also work really well and finish the outfit perfectly. The useage of big, chunky rings, a simple black bag and all colours to match contrast greatly with the bright-in your face red nailpolish.

I also like they way she has her hair down and her make up is very simple and plain. This again shows that she is very natural and isn't bothered about having a "cover girl" look, she is happy and comfortable with her own unique style, and I aspire to that.

Fashion Trends for Spring/Summer 2010

Spring/Summer 2010's expected fashion trends are here!

There are four predicted fashion trends; Popular Appeal, Ode to Nature, Light Tech and Southern Folk.

Popular Appeal consists of 60's and 70's retro looks. From worn denim to high waisted skirts and trousers. The colours are very bold dark colours, consisting of mustard yellows, dark crimsons and navys.
Ode to Nature consists of very antique, religious looking items. The colours are very pastel. This gives the trend a romantic feel to it, such as the floaty pastel dresses.

Light Tech consists of technology related designs, with links to the 50's. Items to be seen are ones such as big, heavy looking trainer boots, big skirted dresses and sharp cut lab coats. The colours are very bold turquoises, pop pinks and acidic oranges.

Southern Folk consists of a mix of influences from different cultures. The clothing includes items with lots of beading and deep strong colours. These colours range from deep pinks to rich wooden looking browns.

As we can see from these trends, there are lots of items that are influenced by the past. So whether your going to be rading your mum's old wardrobe or out shopping on the high street, old is definitley the new new.
