Over-the-Knee Boots

Forget ankle boots this autumn/winter, because Over-the-Knee Boots are back!
From the catwalk to the celebrities and now to the high street.. in every type of fabric and colour... we want them!
Over-the-Knee boots have gone in and out of fashion for many years, being seen on the likes of Julia Roberts, in "Pretty Woman" to Madonna on the red carpet. At first, these boots would be looked upon as "lady of the night boots," and just pure trash, (probably due to Julia's role in Pretty Woman..) and many wouldn't want to be seen in them, but thankfully for us times have changed! The boots are more fashionable than ever, and will be seen wherever you go, worn by those daring enough to do so.
I would say though that these boots have a definite 'marmite' factor to them.. you either love them, or you hate them. I have to admit, I don't think i'd wear the stilletto boots... mainly due to the fact that im useless at walking in stilletto heels! The flat boots however, I really love. They always look so unique and quirky. Also what I love about these boots is that whatever you wear them with, whether your dressing up or down, they will always look stunning.
So there you have it... whether you love them, or you hate them..
Over-the-Knee Boots are most definitely going to be seen on streets near you!

Found By Create

On thursday, my class mates and I all went to Found By Create in the St Johns Centre, a new charity store just opened which sells vintage clothing.

We arrived for 9am, to help the owners style the store and have it ready for the grand opening at 1pm that afternoon. We all had tasks to do such as designing rails to creating looks for manakins. Once finished in the store, we handed out flyers to buyers to advertise the opening, and then all gathered outside for the arrival of Calendar and the Lord Mayor. We then helped in the store, helping to sell the garments and talking to customers about the store. It was a really fun day and gave us all some hands on experience of what it would be like to work in a retail store. I personally feel I have a greater understanding of how a store is run due to this day.

Cheryl Cole

I found some pictures of Cheryl Cole from this years X-factor. I wanted to talk about her outfits as we know that she is a very big fashion icon at the moment and a big inspiration for many people (including many of the auditionees who applied for the X-Factor).
The picture on the left we see Cheryl in a simple shirt and waist-skirt combo. This is a look to show that she is at work so has to be smart, but the big oversized bow on the front of the skirt gives a girly look to the outfit.
The picture on the right however shouts "look at me" and is very funky, not a normal "im going to work" outfit. She looks as if she is going out to a party to have a good time, which is interesting as it shows she has fun and lets her hair down whilst working on the X-Factor. I personally love this outfit and feel that many fans would also.
